Meet the captain of La Boheme, Vincent Barnett. He was born and raised in Kansas City and spend his childhood sailing the lakes and rivers of the Midwest. After studying Physical Geography at the University of Kansas, he moved to the Virgin Islands. He managed a boat store and taught sailing and wind surfing. He has worked at various marinas doing everything from pumping gas, launching boats, to electrical/mechanical work. Vince obtained his Captain’s License in 1987 and began chartering the very next day. He has been chartering for 23 years! His many years of experience allows him to naturally be very knowledgeable of the British Virgin Islands and United States Virgin Islands. He bought a Columbia 57 sloop which he lives on when he is not on charter. Vince races as often as possible. He has won a great number of races in the BVI and USVI. Sweethearts Regatta, Coral Bay Thanksgiving Regatta, Around St. John, and Commodore’s Cup, are just a few he has placed in. He has sailed off shore between Bay Fin, Georgian Bay, Canada all the way down to Trinidad. Vince explored every island along the way. Vince has a passion for sailing and loves to teach others who are willing to learn. He also scuba dives, snorkels, and hikes. He is very knowledgeable of nature and environmental issues, world issues, and history. Vince Barnett thoroughly enjoys living on the ocean. Guests completely welcome the relaxed demeanor of Vince who strives to ensure that everyone has a grand vacation.
